All-Strong Podcast Notes - #5: What's Better, Heavy Weights or Light Weights?

This week is a dense one, and as far as the local-boy-turned-PT world, a potentially controversial one. There's a lot that might make you feel like your training isn't effective, but don't worry, it's probably not as bad as you think. If you want any information on how to integrate these new findings into your own training, please contact me and we'll talk about it.

The first thing I talked about in this episode was the repetition continuum. There aren't many good examples out there online, but this one summarises the idea fairly well.

https://hlth1010.hkust.edu.hk/events/fitness_muscular_fitness.html - NOTE THAT THIS IS NO LONGER AN ACCEPTED REFERENCE.

On top of that, I referenced some podcasts which you can check out if you want a more detailed idea of reps in reserve, hypertrophy training and the new findings I talk about.

And lastly, the study I talk more specifically about in terms of the new findings is available to read here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29016473/

Please don't hesitate to send me any questions you'd like to ask for future episodes, or any questions you'd like to ask me as a coach. I'm more than happy to advise you on your own training if you need any help.
